GUNNISON, Colo. - Western State Colorado University men's basketball made 10 three-pointers Friday night, but it wasn't enough as Colorado School of Mines defeated the Mountaineers 88-73.
Despite getting down early, Western (2-9, 1-6 RMAC) came out on fire in the second half. After trailing CSM (10-0, 6-0 RMAC) by 13 points at the 17 minute mark, the Mountaineers cut the lead to just three points in two minutes. Unfortunately for Western, it would be as close as they would get for the rest of the game.
Mason Biddle (Sr., Riverside, California) helped lead the second half comeback for the Mountaineers. Biddle scored 12 of his team high 19 points in the second half, while dishing out eight assists and grabbing five rebounds.
Freshman
Chances Matlock (Fr., Colorado Springs, Colorado) had a career night for the Mountaineers. Matlock scored a career high 10 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the field.
Western will try and pick up a win against Colorado Christian University on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym
