Swim | Mountaineers fall to Adams at home

GUNNISON, Colo. - Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving won three events against Adams State University on Saturday.  However, it wasn't enough as the Mountaineers fell to rivals Adams State 121-141.

Western's Anna Kaiser (Fr., Pocatello, Idaho) got the Mountaineers' first event victory.  Kaiser won the 200 yard freestyle in a time of 2:04.05.

Hannah Meehan (Fr., Aurora, Colorado) also earned victory for Western.  Meehan's time of 2:14.23 bested all other swimmers in the 200 yard backstroke.

Ariel Fitch (Fr., Coalville, Utah) was the only other Mountaineer to earn a win Saturday.  With a time of 1:02.91, Fitch finished first in the 100 yard butterfly.

In total, Western earned 10 second place finishes and 12 third place finishes on Saturday.

Western will have on final tune up on Jan. 23 before the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 11.  The Mountaineers will head to the Bill & Peggy Foster Duals in Grand Junction, Colorado for their next competition.
