PUEBLO, Colo. - On Saturday in Pueblo, Colorado, the Western State Colorado University men's basketball program pushed Colorado State University - Pueblo to the edge.  In the end, the ThunderWolves prevailed with a 73-61 win.

After CSU-Pueblo (10-5, 6-3 RMAC) got out to an early 8-3 lead, Western (3-11, 2-8 RMAC) came surging back into the game.  The Mountaineers pushed their lead to seven points with 4:31 remaining in the first half.  A late first half comeback by the ThunderWolves negated the Mountaineers' lead as CSU-Pueblo went ahead by one point with 2:26 remaining.  However, a jumper as time expired by Dominique Wright (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colorado) put Western back on top, 36-35 at halftime.

CSU-Pueblo regained the lead at the 17:34 mark in the second half and led the rest of the way.

Western would keep it close for much of the second half, trailing by only one possession for much of that time.

Mason Biddle (Sr., Riverside, California) led the Mountaineers' scoring attack with 23 points.  It was the fifth time this season and the second time in three games that the Western point guard scored over 20 points.

Western's Devin Kastrup (Sr., Colorado Springs, Colorado) and Danny Hopkins (Jr., Riverside, California) also scored in double figures for Western.  Kastrup added 16 points and Hopkins scored 14 points.

CSU-Pueblo's Jed Knafelc led all players in scoring with 28 points.

Western will continue the season next Saturday at Colorado Mesa University in Brownson Arena.
