GUNNISON, Colo. - Winning six events, Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving defeated Colorado School of Mines 136-126. The Mountaineers have now won three meets in a row.

Alexandra Marsolek (So., Frisco, Texas),

Marsolek added another win for the Mountaineers in the 100 yard breaststroke. Finishing with a time of 1:09.27, Marsolek broke the pool record set by Hahn of Adams State University two years ago.
In the 50 yard freestyle, the Mountaineers took the top three spots.
Ariel Fitch (Fr., Coalville, Utah) led the way, finishing with a first place time of 26.23. Behind Fitch was
Kate Hewson (Fr., Estes Park, Colorado) in second and
Cara Leapley (Fr., Las Cruces, New Mexico) in third.
Meehan also finished first in the 200 yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:14.27. This breaks teammate
Samantha Martin's (So., Fallon, Nevada) pool record time of 2:18.23, set last season.
Diver
Jessica Anderson (So., Pasco, Washington) set a school record in the 1-meter dive (six attempts). Anderson scored a total of 202.00 points, breaking the record of 195.50, set in 2012. Teammate
Ashley Nguyen (So., Gig Harbor, Washington) nearly surpassed the record as well, scoring 195.25 points. Diving scores were not added into the team scores as CSM doesn't utilize divers.
Western continues the season on Nov. 21 when the Mountaineers host CSU-Pueblo at 3 p.m. in the Paul Wright Gym Natatorium.
