COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the second straight meet, the Western State Colorado University women's swimming and diving team came away with a win. The Mountaineers defeated the Colorado College Tigers 161-75 Friday night, on the road.
Western won 10-of-13 events against CC, including two relay events.
The Mountaineers started the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:54.94, just two seconds off the school record. Western went on to win the following four individual events.
Western's
Hannah Meehan (Fr., Aurora, Colorado) won the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 11:11.36.
Anna Kaiser (Fr., Pocatello, Idaho) followed Meehan's performance by placing first in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.70.
Kate Hewson (Fr., Estes Park, Colorado) won the next event for Western, finishing first with a time of 25.93 in the 50-yard freestyle.
Kaiser and Meehan each won another event at the meet. Kaiser finished first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.96, while Meehan placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.30.

Akemi King (So., Hilo, Hawaii) won the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:26.57 and teammate
Alexandra Marsolek (So., Frisco, Texas) won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.41.
The Mountaineers ended the meet, winning the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.56, which was less than a second off the school record.
For their next meet, Western hosts Colorado School of Mines in the Mountaineers' home opener on Nov. 1.
