ALAMOSA, Colo. - Western State Colorado University fell to Adams State University on the road Friday night. The Mountaineers had 13 players appear in the match but the Grizzlies won at home, 3-0.
After being down 23-13 in the third set, Western (0-14, 0-10 RMAC) pushed back and went on a 6-1 run to get back into the match at 24-19. However, it was too late for the Mountaineers as ASU (10-8, 5-5 RMAC) took the final and third set 25-19.
Jordan Eatwell (Fr., Fruita, Colorado) led the Mountaineers in kills with six.
Amanda Maestas (So., Aurora, Colorado) led the Western defensive attack, recording a total of 12 digs in the match.
The Mountaineers will continue the season next Friday against New Mexico Highlands University.
