Biography

THIS YEAR:  A Gunnison native, Murtaugh joins the Mountaineers after competing one season at NAIA powerhouse Azusa Pacific University....Is expected to challenge for All Conference honors in both the 110 meter and 400 meter hurdles....Teams with Devin Myers, Austin Gollobith and Cody Sanders to give to Mountaineers one of the strongest hurdle crew's in the RMAC.

2008:  Competed as a true freshman at Azusa Pacific...followed fellow Gunnison standouts Jason Zichterman and Matt Sparks to Azusa Pacific....Registered personal best times of 15.51 (110 hurdles) and 57.6 (400 hurdles)....Was a member of the 2008 GSAC championship team.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Competed four years at Gunnison High School....Ran 14.7 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles and 39.9 seconds in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles.... Was a member of the 2004 3A State Championship team.

PERSONAL:  Parents are Tom and Kristi Murtaugh....has 1 sister (Katy).... Enjoys rafting, camping, tennis, and writing and recording songs.
