Biography

THIS YEAR:  Team Captain Juan Chavira anchors a strong group of Mountaineer sprinters who look to emerge on to the National scene in 2009....Should challenge for RMAC honors in the 60 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4 x 100 meter relay team.

CAREER @ WSC:  Chavira ran a healthy and consistent 2008 season after battling injuries much of his first two seasons at WSC.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Competed at Fort Morgan High School where he ran personal best marks of 10.75 (100 meters) and 22.40 (200 meters).

PERSONAL:  Parents (Veronica Rivera and Juan Chavira) and sister (Angie) live in Fort Morgan, Colorado....Works for WSC campus facilities....Career goal is to become an FBI Forensic Psychologist....Enjoys listening to music, watching movies, drawing and working out.
