THIS  YEAR:  Freshman Akil Gipson will challenge immediately for all conference honors in the high jump, triple jump and long jump....Best event is the high jump where he has a personal best mark of 6'7.

HIGH SCHOOL:  Ran track and played basketball at Mesa Ridge High School in Colorado Springs, CO....Had season best jumps his senior year of 6'7 (high jump), 21'2 (long jump), and 45'1 (triple jump).

PERSONAL:  Full name is Tomas Akil Gipson....Enjoys playing basketball and playing video games.

FAVORITE WORKOUT:  Lifting Weights.
