Kelly Meek begins his sixth season in 2013 as an assistant coach for his daughter, Katie Moskowitz and his fifth season as an assistant with the men’s basketball program for his son-in-law, Mike Moskowitz.
Meek spent 36 years as a high school coach, including 34 as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Steamboat Springs High School. With the Sailors, he won 44 league, district or regional championships and 20 preseason tournament championships.
Meek’s teams won the Western Slope League championship in eight of his last 11 seasons, including three undefeated campaigns in the last four seasons. In that span, the Sailors won 30 consecutive league games to set a school and league record.
Meek finished with 544 wins all-time at Steamboat Springs which ranks him third all-time among Colorado high school coaches and second all-time among coaches at one school.
Meek entered the Colorado High School Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2011.
Meek has been married for 41 years to Karen Meek.
