Devin Kastrup

Devin Kastrup begins his third season as the assistant coach for the Mountaineer men’s basketball team during the 2019-20 season.

During his first season at Western, Kastrup served on a staff that compiled the most wins in a season since 2012.

Kastrup was a starting forward for the Mountaineers from 2013-15. Kastrup appeared in 46 games for Western, starting 32. He averaged nine points per game for his career and 12.7 during his senior season. Kastrup shot 44.3 percent from the field during his two seasons with the Mountaineers.

After graduating from Western, Kastrup spent the following two seasons playing professionally in Spain with Club Baloncesto Puerto Sagunto. In his first season, Kastrup averaged 15 points, 11 rebounds and one assist per game. He was named Rookie of the Year.

In his second season, Kastrup averaged 14 points, nine rebounds and two assists before an injury forced his season to an end.

After returning to the U.S. during the 2016-17 season, Kastrup spent half a season as the head assistant coach at the University of Maine-Presque Isle.

Following his stint at UM-Presque Isle, Kastrup spent the summer of 2017 playing in China on a tour against CBA teams.

Prior to Western, Kastrup played at Southwestern Community College (Iowa) for two seasons and was named an All-Conference performer.

Kastrup graduated from Western with a degree in Exercise and Sport Science with an emphasis in sport and fitness management. He is currently pursuing a graduate degree in sport leadership.
