Kevin Stanley will be in charge of the Western defensive line for the fifth year in 2010.
Stanley played for the Mountaineers from 1994-98 and earned All-RMAC honors as a senior. He stayed at Western in 1999 as an assistant coach to complete undergraduate work on a degree in kinesiology.
Stanley received his masters in secondary education from Chadron State in 2002, where was a graduate assistant for the Eagles.
Stanley went to Dodge City Communtiy College in 2003 as assistant football coach before taking a position as the assistant strength coach for football at Fresno State from 2004-05. He served as the defensive line and recruiting coordinator at Northern State in 2005 before joining the Mountaineer staff in 2006.
Born in Boulder, Colo., Stanley attended Valley High School in Gilcrest, Colo., where he was an all-conference and all-state performer on the football field as a junior and senior.
Stanley is a certified USA Weightlifting Club Coach and is also a National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Condition Specialist.
Stanley and his wife, Jennifer, are the new parents of a baby boy, Hudson.
