SALT LAKE CITYÂ In a physical Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference women's soccer game Friday evening, visiting Western Colorado dropped a 3-0 decision to host Westminster University at the Griffins' Dumke Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Griffins came out of the gate pressuring Western's defense, tallying three shots – including a shot off the left post – in the opening 14 minutes.
- The fourth shot finally found its mark as Westminster inched ahead, 1-0, in the 17th minute, four minutes ahead of Western's first shot of the game by Emily Gesick in the 21st.
- Adah Minikel-Lacocque tried to square the game with a shot on frame in the 38th, but Westminster goalkeeper Marin Mackenzie came up with the save to preserve the host team's narrow lead.
- Westminster turned the field after that, getting off a pair of shots before the halftime break, with one of those on frame and saved by Mountaineer goalie Addison Blick in the final moments of the opening half.
- Westminster brought physical play during that opening 45 minutes, accumulating 10 fouls and one yellow card to just one foul on a Mountaineer player in that time span.
- The Griffins scored a backbreaking goal in the 50th to push the margin to two, then added a goal in the 75th to put the game away.

- Western recorded three shots on goal and a total of six shots in the game, while the Griffins accumulated 11 and 24 shots, respectively.
- Westminster finished it's physical play during the game with 15 fouls and 1 yellow against just 2 fouls on Mountaineer players.
