GREENWOOD, Ind. College Sports Communicators (CSC, formerly CoSIDA) on Tuesday, June 23, announced the 2025-26 Academic All-District® teams in cross country and track & field, including 11 Mountaineer student-athletes and 4 who have been selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot.
The CSC all-district teams recognize the top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the fields of play. The CSC Academic All-America® program recognizes honorees in four separate divisions – NCAA Divisions I, II, and III, and the NAIA.
Nominees, submitted by institution's athletic communicators/sports information directors, must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.500 and be at least a sophomore athletically and academically. Each nominee must have been an 'on-field' contributor and must have finished in the top 50 at their regional cross country championship and/or registered a top-50 regional performance in track & field.

Allison Beasley,
Johanna Brown,
Emma Kjellsen,
Annaka Rudolph,
Peyton Weiss and
Lauren Willson. Beasley, Weiss and Willson have been selected to advance to the Academic All-America® ballot.
The men's Academic All-District® list includes
John Houdeshell,
Nolan Kemper,
Joseph Purbrick,
Jan Thewes and
Braxton Walk. Thewes was selected to move on to the men's Academic All-America® ballot.
Beasley, a senior majoring in computer science-software engineering and graphic design with a 3.99 grade point average, earned an all-region selection in the cross country season, then raced to a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Division II cross country championship to earn All-American honors. Beasley was voted a CSC Academic All-American for the 2024-25 cross country and track & field seasons.
An exercise and sport science major with a 3.61 GPA, Weiss earned her first All-American honor this year with a 32nd-place finish at the DII cross country championship. She added another as part of a seventh-place distance medley relay quartet at the DII indoor track & field championship before claiming one more All-American honor by placing seventh in the 1,500-meter run at the DII outdoor championship.
Willson sports a 3.93 GPA as an elementary education major and ran to all-region honors in the cross country season, followed by an All-American finish (16th) at the DII cross country championship. Also a member of the indoor All-American DMR foursome, Willson was a second-team All-American in the indoor 3,000m run (12th) after claiming the individual title in the event at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference indoor championship meet.
Thewes is a graduate student in exercise and sport science with a 3.94 GPA in the curriculum, transferring to Western after graduating from Davis & Elkins with an identical 3.94 GPA. An all-region runner at the 2025 South Central Region cross country championship, he would go on to earn All-American honors at the DII championship with a 24th-place finish. His second All-American honor this year came at the DII outdoor track & field championship meet where he placed seventh in the 3,000m steeplechase.
Student-athletes advancing to the Academic All-America® ballot will be voted on by CSC members, with first-, second-, and third-team honorees announced on July 14 (men) and July 15 (women).
