CHADRON, Neb., RAPID CITY, S.D. Â The Western Colorado Mountaineers will close out the 2025-2026 campaign this weekend with two games remaining on the schedule. While Western currently sits outside of playoff contention, the Mountaineers will look to finish strong and carry momentum into next season.
THE HISTORY
- Western snapped a seven-game losing streak to Chadron State on Feb. 2 with a 68-61 victory. All-time, Chadron State holds an 18-9 advantage in the series.
- The history with South Dakota Mines dates back to 2016, with Western holding an 8-6 edge all-time. The Mountaineers have won two straight in the series, including an 81-74 victory on Jan. 22.
WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2025-2026 Stats
- The Mountaineers enter the weekend 8-18 overall and 6-12 in RMAC play with two contests left.
- In their last outing, Western battled tough against Colorado Mesa in a 100-90 loss. The Mountaineers kept it close in the first half and briefly held the lead before the Mavericks pulled away late.

- Chadron State comes in on a three-game losing streak, with its last win coming at home against MSU Denver on Feb. 12 in an 84-77 victory.
- Jadon Cool leads the Eagles in scoring at 14.1 points per game (15th in the RMAC), while Isaiah Randolph averages 13.6 points per game, ranking 20th in the conference.

- South Dakota Mines is currently on an eight-game losing streak, with its last win coming on Jan. 24 at Westminster in a 75-70 victory.
- Jason Lee leads the Hardrockers in scoring at 17.9 points per game, while Ryan Sweeney contributes 13.4 points per contest.
- Lee also ranks second in the league in assists, averaging 5.7 per game.
