WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box"
- The opening set set the tone for Western's determination. Junior Olive Rolseth and sophomore Liv Marshall came out swinging, combining for early kills that gave the Mountaineers momentum.
- With freshman Anuhea Kaʻalele setting the pace, Western Colorado surged ahead on back-to-back service aces from sophomore Kyra Kidd, building a 10–7 lead. The Dustdevils battled back, but Rolseth answered with key points at the net and from the service line to keep the score tight.
- Late in the frame, Marshall's attack brought Western within one at 21–22 before TAMIU edged out the set, 25–22.
- In the second set, Western Colorado once again pressed early, with Rolseth and Marshall finding seams in the defense. Defensive specialist Galatia Andrew anchored the back row, keeping long rallies alive, while senior Emily McMillan made her presence felt at the net with a block that briefly shifted momentum.
- Kaʻalele and Kaira Willits combined to spread the offense, creating opportunities across the floor. Despite the push, TAMIU used a late run to pull away for a 25–17 result.
- The third set began with TAMIU jumping ahead, but Western Colorado continued to fight. Marshall delivered a powerful swing from the outside, while Rolseth added a service ace to cut into the lead.
- Freshman Emily Robins and sophomore Sophia Hernandez gave the Mountaineers valuable minutes off the bench, providing defensive support and passing stability. Andrew kept the team energized with consecutive service aces late in the frame, but the Dustdevils closed the set 25–15 to seal the match.
NET NOTES
- Offensively, Rolseth and Marshall led the way on the outside. Rolseth finished with 10 kills, while Marshall added 11, combining for nearly half of Western Colorado's offensive production.
- At the setting position, Kaʻalele directed the attack with 12 assists, followed by Willits, who tallied seven. Their distribution helped create scoring chances across multiple rotations.
