Gunnison, Colo.,   The Western Colorado Men's Basketball team comes up short against RMAC opponent Chadron State, at home on Thursday night, by a score of 79-62.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Chadron won the tip and earned the first score of the game 2-0. Senior Kade Juelfs matched with two from the charity stripe 2-2. An Eagle jumper but senior Trey Anderson hit a three for the lead 5-4.
- CSC hit two in a row for a 9-5 edge. Junior Andrew Reichart had a tip-in layup for a two-point game 9-7. Five minutes in, Anderson another three 11-10 but three from the free throw line put CSC up 14-10.
- Senior Amar Rivers swapped buckets with the Eagles 16-12. Sophomore Tyler Halligan completed a four-point play to tie the game 16-16.
- Heating up, Rivers hit back-to-back shots from behind the arch for a 22-17 edge. Juelfs followed with a fifteen-foot jumper 24-17. Chadron kept up with the Mountaineers 24-22 then earned a 29-24 advantage.
- Scores traded; CSC continued to extend their lead 40-32. Rivers finished around the rim as did Chadron 44-34. Junior Christian Still found freshman Luke Wagstaff outside the perimeter for a routine three 44-37. A last second jumper in the paint by junior Jamel Hollins made it a five-point game going into halftime 44-39.
- A three for Juelfs to begin the second 44-42. Chadron answered 49-42. Freshman Dawlton Grant Rivers and Reichart put up a combined six 53-48.
- With under ten minutes left, the contest became scrappy; the two teams battling for buckets. CSC had an eleven-point edge on WCU 67-56. Hollins put away two, bringing it back down to a nine-point game 67-58.
- Chadron pulled away in the final minutes, taking the game 79-62.

COURT NOTESÂ
- Rivers led the Mountaineers with 15 points going 6-10 from the field, 2-4 from three and 1-1 from the free throw line. Juelfs put up 11, going 3-11 from the field, 1-7 from three and 4-4 from the charity stripe while recording three steals. Reichart put up 9. Anderson and Halligan each contributed 7.
- Junior Ty Buckmon paced the offense with 3 assists. Reichart, Juelfs, and Rivers followed with 2.
- Reichart and senior Nalik Veasley pulled down 5 boards each. Anderson and Hollins had 4.
- WCU shot 34.4% from the field, 21.9% from three and 72.2% from the free throw line.
