HOW IT HAPPENED
- Senior Rachel Cockman made a move in the paint for the first bucket of the game 2-0. A few minutes later the Grizzlies responded 2-2. Cockman put away another, so did senior Brooklyn Seymour, graduate Jayde Tschritter and junior Natalie Jojola to give the Mountaineers a 13-8 edge.
- With under a minute in the first quarter, ASU tied the game 13-13. A thee from sophomore Jayda Maves gave WCU the lead 16-13. ASU was able to answer with a layup 16-15 but a buzzer beater three by senior Rachel Novak ended the first quarter with a Mountaineer advantage 19-15.
- The second quarter began with lead changes and ties. Scores were traded back and forth until ASU went on a small run gaining a 37-31 edge. Shots by Maves and sophomore Alyssa Eckroth, just before the half, made it a one-point game in favor of ASU 37-36.
- Tschritter completed a three-point play to kick off the second half 38-37. ASU followed with a score to tie the game again 39-39. Possessions later, the Grizzlies got their lead back after sinking two free throws 41-39.
- With under five minutes in the third, ASU recorded a 47-41 advantage. A jumper by Cockman and layup by Jojola closed the gap 47-45. In the last seconds of the third, a shot behind the arch from Tschritter and two-for-two from the charity stripe by Seymour put WCU on top 62-57.
- Seymour was sent to the free throw line to extend the Mountaineers edge 64-57. ASU tried to compete, but Maves hit another three, Seymour sunk a floater and sophomore Ivey Schmidt finished around the rim 71-60.
- The Grizzlies put up baskets, but each time WCU would respond, maintaining their lead. With three minutes left in regulation, the Mountaineers had a 75-68 lead. Two consecutive scores for WCU made it an eleven-point contest 79-68. ASU hit shots from the charity stripe and a three with seconds left but WCU came out on top 84-76.

COURT NOTESÂ
- Tschritter led the Mountaineers with 21 points, going 7-12 from the field, 2-5 from three and 5-6 from the free throw line. Maves followed with 19, going 8-13 from the field and 3-6 from behind the arch. Seymour put up 12 then Cockman with 11.
- Cockman and junior Chloe Daniels each pulled down 7 boards. Seymour had 4 and four Mountaineers recorded 3.
- Four Mountaineers earned 2 assists each. Seymour put up 2 blocks and 2 steals.
- WCU shot 46.9% from the field, 50% from three and 83.3% from the charity stripe.
