KANSAS CITY, Mo. Postseason awards continue to add to
Ricky Freymond's and
Drew Nash's lists, as both were named to the 2025 D2Football.com Elite 100 Team, as announced by the organization Monday morning.
Freymond was selected for the Elite 100's second team defense, with Nash joining the list as one of its 25 Squad members.
The Elite 100 is D2Football.com's version of an All-America team and is "selected by staff members … with input from sitting head coaches and professional scout Josh Bunchanan," as stated in the official press release.
Most recently, the Mountaineer pair earned spots on the 2025
Don Hansen NCAA DII All-America Team and the Associated Press NCAA DII All-American team.
Nash was a finalist for the Harlon Hill Award – presented to the NCAA DII college football player of the year – finishing in seventh place, the highest finish for a Mountaineer in program history.
The Harlon Hill recognition was added to a slew of postseason honors already awarded, including the Division 2 Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Super Region 4 Offensive Player of the Year and first team quarterback; the National Football Foundation-Colorado Chapter (NFFCC) Offensive Player of the Year and first team quarterback; the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Offensive Player of the Year and first team quarterback; and the RMAC All-Academic Offensive Player of the Year and first team quarterback.
Freymond added the AP andÂ
Don Hansen honors to a growing list that includes American Football Coaches Association second team All-American on defense; D2CCA second team defense; All-NFFCC first team defense; RMAC first team defense; and RMAC All-Academic first team defense.
Nash's 77 career passing touchdowns top that category in the Western record book and his career total of 8,061 passing yards is second most, after throwing for 33 touchdown passes and for 2,938 yards this season.
Freymond, the program leader in career sacks (29.0), is second in the record book with 58.0 tackles for loss after posting 4.5 sacks and 13.0 TFLs this season.
