COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  Western Colorado's Ivey Schmidt has been voted the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the week on offense, as announced Monday afternoon by the league office.

Schmidt helped the Mountaineers to a sweep of last week's games

In a 71-68 overtime win over MSU Denver on Dec. 11, she scored 26 points, came down with 9 rebounds and added 3 assists. Her point total from the game also pushed her over the 1,000 career points plateau.

Two days later she tossed in 20 points and ripped down 9 rebounds – all off the defensive rim – while adding an assist, a steal, and one block during a 62-53 victory over Regis University.

Her 19.5 points per game average – a single-season career best – leads the RMAC, while her 7.6 rebounds per game rank fourth in the conference.

The Mountaineers are 3-1 in league play and stand tied for third place in the league standings.
