Ivey Schmidt has been voted the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference player of the week on offense, as announced Monday afternoon by the league office.
Schmidt helped the Mountaineers to a sweep of last week's games
In a 71-68 overtime win over MSU Denver on Dec. 11, she scored 26 points, came down with 9 rebounds and added 3 assists. Her point total from the game also pushed her over the 1,000 career points plateau.
Two days later she tossed in 20 points and ripped down 9 rebounds – all off the defensive rim – while adding an assist, a steal, and one block during a 62-53 victory over Regis University.
Her 19.5 points per game average – a single-season career best – leads the RMAC, while her 7.6 rebounds per game rank fourth in the conference.
The Mountaineers are 3-1 in league play and stand tied for third place in the league standings.
