Mountaineer Soccer Set to Challenge #11 Orediggers

GOLDEN, Colo.  Western Colorado, fresh off its first win of the season, will look to add a second victory when it takes to the road for a Sunday afternoon Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference battle at 11th-ranked Colorado School of Mines.

WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE MATCH | 2025 Stats
  • The Mountaineers, 1-9-3 overall and 1-2-3 in the RMAC, earned that initial win of the season with a 3-0 home victory over N.M. Highlands on Oct. 12. Cianna Thomas scored in the 33rd minute for what would prove to be the game-winning goal, before Natsuki Murakami and Caitlin Mazurek would each add second-half goals at Katy O. Rady Field.
  • Western has been improving across the length of the season, and in its last four outings posts a 1-1-2 mark, with the only defeat coming at then-No. 22 Colorado Mesa.
  • Murakami leads the team with four goals and eight points, while Thomas and Mazurek both have two goals apiece.
  • Ashlyn Fitzpatrick has seen the most time in goal for the Mountaineers, 760 minutes, coming up with 45 saves overall and registering a 2.84 goals-against average.
  • Aubree Orosco picked up the win in the Highlands game with a clean-sheet nine-save effort. In 270 minutes between the pipes she's accumulated 18 saves and has a 2.67 goals-against average.
  • Western's lone win in the all-time series with the Orediggers was a 2-1 double-overtime victory in Gunnison in October 2016.
COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2025 Stats
  • Mines is 7-2-1 overall and 4-1 in the RMAC, its lone conference loss a 2-1 defeat at Regis University. The Orediggers have since won both of their outings since that defeat, but travel to No. 10 UC Colorado Springs on Friday, Oct. 17 for a challenging date with the Mountain Lions before entertaining Western two days later.
  • The season statistics show an even distribution between CSM and its opponents, except for one category – goals.
  • The Orediggers have taken 124 shots this season while opponents have registered 126; the total number of shots on goal are dead even at 46 apiece; and CSM has the narrowest of margins, 43-42, in creating corner kick opportunities. However, Mines has doubled up its opponents in goals scored, 18 to 9.
  • Bella Campos leads the team with eight goals, three assists and 19 points and one game-winning marker. Lindsey Jeans' two goals this season have both been game-winners.
  • The goalkeeping duties have been taken up by Allie Lundgren with 871 minutes of a total of 900 minutes played. Lundgren has allowed nine goals in 10 games, made 36 saves, and posts a 0.93 goals-against average and a 0.800 save percentage.
