GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado will take on Chadron State and Colorado Christian for the season time this season but will welcome the pair of RMAC foes into Gunnison, Colo., this time around. The Mountaineers will face the Eagles on Friday, February 9 with a 7 p.m. tipoff. Colorado Christian will take on the Mountaineers Saturday, Feb. 10 at 5 p.m.
The first time the Mountaineers took on the Cougars and Eagles back in December and went 0-2 on the road. Against the Cougars, Western Colorado fell 63-58 as Kade Juelfs led the team with 14 points followed by Avery Rembao's 10-point game. As a team the Mountaineers had seven rebounds while outscoring the Cougars 36-26 in the first half. Western Colorado will look to bounce back against the Eagles after taking a 79-51 loss to Chadron earlier in the season. Against the Eagles, Rembao led the Mountaineers with 13 points, while Jamel Hollins led the team's defensive efforts with five rebounds.
The Mountaineers will support Mental Health Awareness on Friday night, followed by a red out game against the Cougars.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023-24 Stats
- Western Colorado (6-14, 3-11 RMAC) is coming off a heartbreaker against Westminster on Saturday night as they fell 79-76. Tyler Halligan led his squad with 20 points as the squads were tied at 34 points apiece going into the second half. The Griffins went to the free throw line six times in the final minute to give them the edge over the Mountaineers.
- Against Colorado Mesa on Tuesday, the Mountaineers lost 67-45 as they held the nation's then No. 13 team to their lowest scoring win of the season. Xavier Harris led the Mountaineers with 10 points, while Andrew Reichart led the Mountaineers with five rebounds.
- Throughout the season, Kade Juelfs has averaged 12.2 points per game and 48-percent shooting from the field. Jamel Hollins leads the Mountaineers rebounding efforts with 5.7 rebounds, he also has registered 10 steals and 3 blocks.
EAGLES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023-24 Stats
- The Eagles (11-10, 8-7 RMAC) are coming off a midweek contest with Colorado Christian where they suffered a 3-point loss. John Jenkins registered a team high 16 points, followed by Jalen Patterson who registered 13 points on the day.
- Bryce Latimer leads the Eagles with 18.8 points per game, while Josh Robinson has tallied 15.2 points per game this season. Robinson also leads the Eagles in rebounds per game with 8.4.
COUGARS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023-24 Stats
- Jacob Everson led the Cougars (9-12, 5-10 RMAC) with 16 points in a 63-60 comeback win over the Eagles Wednesday night. Noah Kon and Bradley Land also scored in double figures Wednesday night with 13 points and 12 points, respectively.
- Kon leads the offensive power for the Cougars with 15.5 points per game while Land has averaged 10.3 points per game. Land has also been a difference maker on defense with 13 blocks and 24 steals.

Western Colorado will hit the road as it will take on Adams State on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7:30. The Mountaineers will then face Fort Lewis at 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 17 in Durango, Colo.
