GUNNISON Colo. Western Colorado shot 55-percent from the field in the second half and outscored Regis, but it was not enough to overcome Rangers' lead going into halftime and fell 82-75.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rangers were hard to slow down as they started the night on a 4-0 run after Tarig Eisa went to the free throw line 13 seconds into the game. Eddy Egun then made a layup in the paint for his squad. After Amar Rivers made a shot in the paint, Rivers then tied the game with a layup. Both teams would go back and forth before the Mountaineers went on their largest run, of six points, the night with 13 minutes, 10 seconds on the clock, which is when Western Colorado had its lone lead of the night.
Jalen Brown hit a 3-pointer giving the Rangers momentum and giving them a two-point lead. Tyler Halligan would then hit a layup tying the game once again, but Brown could not be stopped by the defense all night and hit another three-pointer. Brown registered 20-points in the 1st half, while the Rangers hit a 60% clip shooting from the field and 53% from 3-point range. The Mountaineers shot 39% from the field in the first half, while Halligan had 10 points.
The Mountaineers found their rhythm from the field in the second half making 55% of their shots and were able to outscore their opponent 39-37 but was not able to overcome the 13-point lead Regis had with five minutes left in the game. Western Colorado capitalized off offensive rebounds in the second half as tallied 11-points off second chances.
COURT NOTES
Tyler Halligan was one of three players who scored in double digits for the Mountaineers as Halligan led the charge with 17 points. Rivers registered 14 points, while Kade Juelfs tallied 10 points.
Andrew Reichart had six rebounds against the Rangers with four of them being defensive boards. Halligan had two steals on the night with three rebounds. Spencer Wright had the Mountaineers lone blocked shot of the evening.
