Colo. The Western Colorado volleyball team traveled to Pueblo, Colorado to face the Colorado State University Pueblo Thunderwolves, in an RMAC match, Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountaineers got off to a 4-1 edge over the Thunderwolves. CSU got going and tied the set at 5-a-piece. A few more draws then CSU took the lead at 10-9. WCU put up a few more points but Pueblo went up 17-12 forcing WCU into a timeout. The Mountaineers came out of the break with kills by senior Seyun Park and sophomore Kyra Kidd 17-14. The Thunderwolves took a 22-15 advantage. WCU got within five 24-19 but CSU recorded the final point 25-19.
- Senior Kennedy Kelly kicked off the second set with a kill from senior Nur Turkmenoglu. The rallies went back and forth, a couple of lead changes and ties until WCU went on a six-point run 16-12 driving CSU to take a timeout. Pueblo came back and kept the game interesting, but WCU stayed resilient and took set two 25-22.
- Another neck and neck set began with the Thunderwolves earning the first score. The next few rallies went back and forth until CSU earned a small 6-3 edge. WCU responded and tied the game at 6-a-piece. Pueblo witnessed another lead 13-9 but Western came with two 13-11 then within one 15-14. Soon after, the score was once again tied 17-17. From there on the Thunderwolves pulled away, taking set three 25-20.
- The fourth set saw one tie at 1-1, after that CSU used their momentum to take and keep the lead. Western within two 6-4 but Pueblo went on larger runs then WCU which elevated their score 14-8. The Mountaineers put up two, but CSU added four 18-11. WCU fought back to a 4-point deficit 23-19 but Pueblo secured the last two points winning the set 25-29 and the match 3-1.
NET NOTES
- Junior Olive Rolseth led the Mountaineer offense with 19 kills and three service aces. Park followed with 12 kills and an assisted block. Turkmenoglu set up her teammates recording 39 assists while also playing on the defensive side, adding 9 digs.
- Sophomore Chinaru Inoue paced the defense with 13 digs.
