Lawton, Okla., The Western Colorado Men's Basketball team traveled to Lawton, Oklahoma to compete against Cameron University on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Neither team was able to score in the opening minute of the contest. Sophomore Tyler Halligan sunk a jumper in the second minute that was countered with a layup by the Aggies 2-2. The Mountaineers were unable to connect while Cameron went on a small run 8-2.
- Halligan hit a three to get WCU back in motion. Off an offensive board, junior Andrew Reichart finished around the rim 8-7. A jumper from the Aggies advanced their lead by three 10-7. A scoreless minute was ended as senior Kade Juelfs earned his first bucket of the day, tying the score 10-10.
- CU put up back-to-back baskets to take a 14-10 advantage then earned a six-point lead 17-11. Juelfs hit a three to cut the margin, 17-14.
- The Aggies offense kept knocking down shots to go up 29-20 with just under ten minutes to play. Reichart, with a layup, answered by a Cameron bucket saw the score at 31-22. Junior Trevin Lieck finished a three-point play followed by a made free throw from Juelfs 31-26.
- With five minutes left to play senior Amar Rivers got on the board, making it a one-point game 31-30. Scores were traded and Halligan tied the game 37-37. With one minute left in the first half a steal and bucket from junior Ty Buckmon earned the Mountaineers first lead of the contest 39-37.
- Cameron tied the game and grabbed the lead to begin the second half 43-39. Reichart and Juelfs recorded buckets, the Mountaineers down five 52-47. Another shot from behind the arch, by Juelfs, put the score at 52-50 with fifteen minutes left to play.
- Missed shots, fouls and turnover took up the next few minutes of the contest. Finally, are two minutes, Rivers tied the game 52-52. CU answered with three, 55-52. Rivers with five-points in a row gave WCU a 57-55 advantage. Halligan sinking another moved the score 59-55.
- CU stayed close and regained the lead 62-60. The battle continued, Cameron still in the lead 73-66 with five minutes left to play. The Mountaineers got within six, 76-70, but CU put away more buckets in the final minutes to win the game 85-72.
COURT NOTES
- Four Mountaineers finished in double-digits, Juelfs (19), Halligan (13), Rivers (13) going 5-5 from the charity stripe, Reichart (12). Buckmon earned 6, junior Jamel Hollins with 5 and Lieck with 3. Buckmon led in steals with 3 and assists with 2.
- Halligan led the Mountaineers in rebounds with 6. Buckmon, Rivers, and Reichart each pulled down 4. Halligan and Rivers each recorded a block.
- WCU shot 45.3% from the field, 58.8% from three, had 19 bench points, 8 second chance points and 15 points off turnovers.
