GUNNISON, Colo.  Looking to climb up the standings in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, Western Colorado soccer will host Regis University and Black Hills State University on Friday and Sunday, respectively, as the Mountaineers vie for points to move up into a postseason tournament position.

WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 Stats

• At 2-3-2 in the conference, Western (3-7-3 overall) has 8 points in the standings, one point behind eighth-place UC Colorado Springs. The top eight teams in the final regular season standings qualify for the RMAC tournament.
• The Mountaineers defeated host Regis last year, 3-2, for the first time in program history, scoring more than one goal against the Rangers for the first time since 2013.
• Western has won the last three meetings against Black Hills State, recording a 2-0 shutout in Spearfish, S.D., last season.
• Cianna Thomas and Ellie Kubena are multiple-goal scorers for Western, Thomas with three goals and one game-winner and Kubena with two goals and one game-winning goal.
• Aubree Orosco has seen the most minutes in goal for the Mountaineers (882), and carries a 1.84 goals-against average into the weekend. in 11 games played, she's come up with 82 saves, the most in the conference.

REGIS COMING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 Stats

• The Rangers were on a three-match winning streak before suffering a 1-0 loss to UC Colorado Springs in their most recent game.
• Regis currently sits fourth in the league with a 4-3-1 RMAC record for 13 points in the standings. Overall the Rangers are 5-7-2 on the season.
• The bulk of Regis' total of 18 goals this season have come from Madeline Gardner and Natalie Bunch. Gardner has netted five goals and two game-winners, while Bunch has four goals.
• Two of three players with one goal each have recorded game-winning goals for the team.
• Grace Clover is 4-3-2 in goal for the Rangers. She's played over 800 minutes between the pipes with 50 saves and owns a 0.95 GAA.

BLACK HILLS STATE HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2024 Stats

• The Yellow Jackets (2-8-4, 2-5-1 RMAC) will play Friday at Fort Lewis College before Sunday's game at Western.
• Both of Black Hills State's wins this season have come against RMAC opponents — a 5-0 shutout of visiting New Mexico Highlands on Oct. 11 and a 4-2 win over visiting Adams State two days later.
• The Yellow Jackets are 0-6-2 away from their home turf in Spearfish.
• They have surrendered 33 goals on the year while scoring 14 for a 1.00 goals per game mark.
• All 14 goals have come from five players, led by Paige Hills 4 goals and Anacel Valenzuela-Acosta's 3 markers. Hill has one of the game winners while Jayda Hammer has the other.
• The bulk of the minutes in goal for BHSU have been handled by Makayla Dannelly. In her 10 game starts she's come up with 63 saves and possesses a 2.30 GAA coming into Friday and Sunday's games.

• The Mountaineers will host their Senior Day ceremonies post-game, when they honor departing players Grace Borden, Bridget Feely, Kylie Hickox, Natasha Kasozi, Abby Raio, Tawny Roberts, Kennedy Ross, Mary Wilson, and Malia Yang.
• These nine players will be playing at the Katy O. Rady Field for the final time in their careers.
