COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. Western Colorado will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo., on January 6 to take on University of Colorado Colorado Springs to start the second half of its season after the holiday break.
The Mountaineers are looking for their first win against the Mountain Lions since 2017 when they won 77-72. Last season, the Mountaineers dropped a pair of contests by scores of 79-63 and 90-66.

The Mountaineers (4-7, 1-4 RMAC) are coming into this weekend with a pair of wins under their belt including a 54-42 win over Stanton in an exhibition game and a 64-62 win over Northern New Mexico College back on Tuesday, December 19. In their final conference game before the break, the Mountaineers fell to Colorado School of Mines 79-61.

Jesse Iweze registered a career-high 28 points including 9 field goals and 9 free throws which were also career highs in Tuesday's match up. As a team, the Mountain Lions are averaging 70.7 points per game while shooting 42% from the field.
