GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado was able to pull out an overtime win over Adams State last weekend to begin conference play, despite falling to Fort Lewis the following night. The Mountaineers will continue conference play against Colorado Christian at 8 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 7, before traveling to Chadron, Neb., to take on Chadron State in Chadron, Neb., for a 3 p.m. tip off.  

The Mountaineers look to rebound against both teams as they have fallen to Colorado Christian in the last three contests and to Chadron State their last five meetings.  

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats 

• The Mountaineers (3-4, 1-1 RMAC) are coming off an overtime thriller against Adams State where Spencer Wright made a three-pointer at the buzzer giving his team the edge and a loss to No. 20 Fort Lewis.  

• As a team, the Mountaineers have averaged 63.6 shots per game with 42% of the shots coming from the field and 40% from beyond the arch. The dynamic duo of Avery Rembao and Kade Juelfs lead the offensive efforts for the Mountaineers with 11 and 10.1 points per game, respectively. Xavier Harris has made an impact off the bench with 9.3 points per game and five steals.  

• Defensively, Jamel Hollins leads Western Colorado with six rebounds per game and a total of 42 rebounds. Trevin Lieck has also made an impact defensively with 29 defensive boards, two steals and two blocks.  

COUGARS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

• Colorado Christian (3-4, 0-2 RMAC) is coming off a pair of losses to CSU Pueblo and New Mexico Highlands.  

• As a unit, the Cougars have averaged 82.6 while making 46% of their shots from field goal range and 33% from beyond the arch. Noah Kon leads their scoring efforts with 17.3 points per game and 21 assists. He has also tallied 24 defensive rebounds out of his 32 total rebounds with nine steals and two blocks.  

• Brenden Patrick has recorded 2.9 rebounds per game with 13 total defensive boards. He has four steals while Schafer Reichart has registered a team leading 12 steals.  

EAGLES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats  

• The Eagles (3-4,1-1 RMAC) split their weekend against the ThunderWolves and Cowboys, starting out with a conference victory over CSU Pueblo, but then fell to New Mexico Highlands the following night.   

• The Eagles offense is averaging 84.9 points throughout their opening seven games and have a 2.6 scoring margin compared to their opponents. They also have 38.4 rebounds per game, holding a 9.4 margin over their opponents this season.  

• The duo of Bryce Latimer and Josh Robinson has been on fire for the Eagles as Latimer has tallied 23.7 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per game. Latimer also has a team-high eight steals. Robinson has made 56% of his shots from the field this season to go with 8.7 rebounds per game which includes a total of 35 defensive boards. Porter Anderson has made a defensive impact for Chadron State with 44 rebounds and four blocks.
