GUNNISON, Colo. Western Colorado looks for its second conference win of the season as the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines comes to Gunnison, Colo., on Saturday, December 16 for a 3 p.m. tip off. The Mountaineers will then hit the road one last time in 2023 as they will face Northern New Mexico College in Espanola, N.M., on Tuesday, Dec. 19. Tip off is set for 7 p.m.
Western Colorado will also host an exhibition game with Stanton University on Dec.31 at 2 p.m., in Paul Wright Gym.
Local elementary and middle school students will get into both the women's and men's games for free Saturday afternoon.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

The Mountaineers (3-6, 1-3 RMAC) are coming off a pair of losses to Colorado Christian and Chadron State on the road last weekend. As a team, the Mountaineers are scoring 61.6 points per game, while making 42% of their shots from the field. Amar Rivers had a strong performance defensively against Chadron State with four blocked shots. He now leads the team with seven on the season.

Avery Rembao leads the Mountaineers scoring efforts with 11.1 points per game and a 35-clip shooting from the field. Kade Juelfs has also been dominant from the field with making 45% of his shots while averaging 10 points per game.

Jamel Hollins leads the Mountaineers rebounding efforts with 52 total rebounds and 5.8 rebounds per game, which ranks 12th in the conference. Trevin Lieck and Andrew Reichart both have 34 rebounds each this season averaging 3.8 rebounds per game which is tied for second on the team.

The Orediggers (8-3, 4-1 RMAC) head into this weekend with a four-game winning streak after defeating MSU Denver 78-67 on Wednesday night. Mines has averaged 71.5 points per game compared to its opponents who are scoring 66.9 points per game.

Majok Deng leads the Orediggers with 15.5 points per game while making 41% of his shots from the field and 41% of his shots from beyond the arc. Cade Mankle has also been dominant for Mines this season with 13.2 points per game and 31 total rebounds. Deng is tied for 10th in the RMAC in points per game and tied for fifth in total points this season with 151 points.

Alex Romack is ranked sixth in the conference in rebounds per game with 8.2 rebounds. As a team, the Orediggers are averaging 36.4 rebounds per game.

The Eagles (4-13) come into Tuesday's contest with two more game on their schedule against Eastern New Mexico and Wayland Baptist before the Mountaineers head to town.
