GUNNISON, Colo.  Western Colorado opens its conference schedule on Friday, December 1 at 7 p.m. against Adams State, followed by a match up with No. 20 Fort Lewis on Saturday, Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.  

Throughout the first half of Friday's game, Western's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will have a 50/50 raffle and the winner of the raffle will be announced during halftime.  

The Mountaineers are looking for revenge after taking two losses to both the Grizzlies and Skyhawks last season.  

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats 

• The Mountaineers are 2-3 this season after falling to University of Nebraska-Kearney, 76-75 last Tuesday.  

• Western Colorado has averaged 62.6 points per game with a 41.7-percent shooting from the field. Avery Rembao leads the team with 11.6 points per game and a total of 58 points. He has also registered a 35.3-clip shooting from the field, while Xavier Harris has a 53.7-percent shooting from the field with 10.4 points per game.  

• Jamel Hollins has led the defensive efforts for Western Colorado with 6.4 rebounds per game and five defensive rebounds per game. Andrew Reichart also has five defensive boards per game with 5.4 rebounds per game.  

GRIZZLIES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats  

• The Grizzlies come into the weekend with a 2-4 record after two losses to University of Alaska Anchorage last weekend.  

• Destan Williams leads the scoring efforts for Adams State with an average of 16.8 points per game and 17 assists this season. Williams has also tallied two steals and 14 rebounds, averaging 2.3 rebounds per game.  

• Austin Fadal has averaged 10.7 points per game this season, while contributing 11 steals, 18 assists and 29 rebounds, for 4.8 rebounds per game. Fadal has been dominant from the free throw line with a 60.9-percent from the charity stripe.  

SKYHAWKS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats  

• Fort Lewis comes in this weekend ranked No. 20 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 poll and a 4-1 record. The Skyhawks' only loss of the season came on Nov. 10 against Angelo State in the South Central Regional Crossover. As a team, Fort Lewis has averaged 77.6 points per game.  

• Obi Agbim has started in all five games for the Skyhawks this season and has averaged 16.8 points per game with a 44.2-clip from the field. Sekou Dembele leads the Skyhawks with a 56.5-percent shooting from the field with an average of 6.6 points per game.  

• Brayden Carter leads Fort Lewis' rebounding efforts averaging 8.2 rebounds per game and collecting 24 total defensive boards this season. The junior also has five steals on the season and nine blocks.

The Mountaineers will head to the front range to take on Colorado Christian on Thursday, Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. They then will go to Chadron Neb., to take on Chadron State on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 3 p.m.
