KEARNEY, Neb. Western Colorado will travel to Kearney, Neb., for a mid-week non-conference matchup against the Lopers of University of Nebraska Kearney on Tuesday, November 21 with a 5 p.m. MT start. The holiday week will also include a Friday exhibition game at Division I Utah Valley University
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023-24 Stats
- The Mountaineers went 1-1 over the previous weekend with a pair of games against Texas A&M International and Texas A&M Kingsville that went down to the wire.
- The Mountaineers dominated the first half against the DustDevils Friday night with a 55.5-percent shooting from the field while registering a 42.8-clip from beyond the arch. In the second half, Western Colorado recorded a 42.1-percent shooting from the field while shooting a strong 76.9-clip from the charity strip. Xavier Harris had a team high 15 points while coming off the bench and Kade Juelfs led his squad with six rebounds.
- Against TAMUK Saturday night, Jamel Hollins registered his first double-double of the season coming off the bench with 14 rebounds, including 12 defensive boards, and 16 points. Avery Rembao led the team with 17 points in the game.
NEBRASKA-KEARNEY HEADING INTO THE GAME | 2023-24 Stats
- The Lopers come into this mid-week game with a 1-1 record after defeating Chadron State last weekend.
- In UNK's lone win of the season the team shot 65.8-percent shooting from the field in their 113-101 win. They went 12-for-22 from beyond the arc while receiving 49 points off their bench. The Lopers had twelve points off second chances while recording 56 points in the paint and 15 points off turnovers.
- D'Anundre Samuels and Sean Evans tallied 21 points apiece, which was a team high against the Eagles. Sean Murphy led the team in rebounds with seven, recording four defensive boards. Samuels also had three steals in the game for the Lopers.
UTAH VALLEY HEADING INTO THE GAME | 2023-24 Stats
- The Wolverines are 3-2 heading into their final contest before beginning Western Athletic Conference action.
- UVU is averaging 66.6 points per game, but are allowing 69.4 PPG for a -2.8 scoring margin.
- Drake Allen leads the team in scoring with a 12.8 PPG average, with Tanner Toolson also averaging double figures (11.0).
