PUEBLO, Colo.  Western Colorado soccer begins a two-game road trip with Friday's Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matchup at Colorado State Pueblo. The Mountaineers finish the trip Sunday at 16th-ranked Colorado School of Mines.

WESTERN COLORADO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

• The Mountaineers are coming off their first win of the season, dominating visiting New Mexico Highlands, 3-1, with a 33-3 shot advantage along with controlling possession 69 percent of the game, including a little more than a third of the game in its attacking third.
• Caileen Sienknecht leads the team in scoring with three goals, while five others have one goal apiece.
• One of those single-goal scorers is Tawny Roberts, whose first career goal proved to be the game-winner in the N.M. Highlands match.
• Goalkeeper Mei Hayashizaki (1-6-2) has started every game this season. She posts a 1.63 goals against average and has made 39 saves with a .750 save percentage.

COLORADO STATE PUEBLO HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

• The ThunderWolves, at 2-2-5 overall and 0-1-3 in the RMAC this season, have a 2-6-2 historical mark against Western, though the Mountaineers won the 2022 contest, 2-0.
• The season record could be much different for CSUP as it has only been outscored by a cumulative total of nine goals to eight. The Pack's defense has allowed just one goal in six games and earned a scoreless draw in their most recent outing. Shots on goal numbers also favor CSUP, 46-42.
• Cortney Cowles has score three of the team's eight goals, including one game-winner.
• Starting every game and playing every minute in goal for the Pack has been Nicole Genis. She averages 1.00 goals against, has 31 saves, and carries a .775 save percentage into Friday's game.

COLORADO SCHOOL OF MINES HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | 2023 Stats

• The 16th-ranked Orediggers have a 6-2-2 overall record and a 2-1-1 league mark this season, and are 11-1 all-time against the Mountaineers. Western's last win over CSM was a 3-2 double-overtime home victory on Oct. 16, 2016.
• The opening of Mines' RMAC schedule was a 2-0 loss to UC Colorado Springs followed by a 1-1 draw with CSU Pueblo. Two wins, over Black Hills State and Regis, have come since that tie, though.
• A 29-8 cumulative goals-for advantage for the Orediggers is led by Reese McDermott and Bella Campos. McDermott has seven goals and three assists, while Campos has six and three, respectively.
• Sadie Wolf has started seven of nine games in goal for the Orediggers, earning a 6-2-2 mark while registering a 0.80 goals-against average while making nine saves.
