COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference on Tuesday afternoon announced that Western Colorado's Gracie Lyman and Caileen Sienknecht have been named the league's offensive and defensive women's soccer players of the week.

The pair helped the Mountaineers to a 2-0 weekend on the road, upsetting host Regis University, 3-2, on Friday afternoon before shutting out host Black Hills State University, 2-0, on Sunday.

Lyman, a junior, scored the first two goals of her career in the win at Black Hills State, the initial score coming in the 61st minute off an assist from Sienknecht, and the second clinching the game at the 89:12 mark with an assist from Luci Gulbransen.

That first goal was also Lyman's first career game-winning goal.

Sienknecht not only helped keep the scoresheet clean in the shutout at Black Hills – she and her back line teammates limiting the Yellow Jackets to just three shots on goal – but registered the game winner at Regis.

Western had battled back from a second-half 2-1 deficit with a tying goal on a penalty kick from Laura Pelino in the 78th. The second time was the charm on consecutive corner kick opportunities in the 87th as Gulbransen lofted one into the goal box just inside the near post where a leaping Sienknecht beat everyone in the air with a header that skirted inside that right post.

Sienknecht leads Western in scoring with nine points from four goals and an assist, while Lyman ties Gulbransen (one goal, two assists) at four points from her two markers at Black Hills State.
