GUNNISON, Colo.  No. 14 Western Colorado will be back at home on Saturday, Oct. 14 for a conference matchup against Black Hills State.  

The Mountaineers are 7-3 all-time against the Yellow Jackets and have won the past four matchups. Western Colorado will be honoring their 2023 Hall of Fame inductees at halftime.  
  
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND

• The Mountaineers head into this weekend 6-0 including a 4-0 conference record. Their latest victory came over South Dakota Mines with a score of 43-20.  

• Western Colorado leads the RMAC in 15 categories are ranked in the nation's top-10 in five, including third in team passing efficiency defense (84.62), fourth in turnover margin (1.67), fifth in turnovers gained (16) sixth in blocked punts with three and eighth in time of possession per game (33:45).  

• The offense, which is led by quarterback Drew Nash is averaging 35.67 points per game. Nash is coming off a great start against the Hardrockers where he threw for 245 yards and rushed for a season-high 107 yards.  

• Tony Cass had a dominant showing against the Hardrockers as well, leading the defense with two interceptions, including returning one for a touchdown. The Mountaineers defense had four interceptions last weekend, forcing six turnovers for the Hardrockers.  

YELLOW JACKETS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND  

• The Yellow Jackets got back in the win column last weekend with a 34-24 victory over New Mexico Highlands in Spearfish, S.D.  

• Nolan Susel ranks 13th in the nation with nine total touchdowns and 20th with 54 points scored. Hassan Williams also highlights Black Hills State's offense with 500 receiving yards so far this season.  

• Defensively, Zechariah Rodriguez-Brown is averaging 1.3 pass breakups per game.
