COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. An early lead by the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs was too much to overcome on Thursday (Sep. 15), resulting in Western Colorado losing 6-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions took control of the game early, scoring at the 3:44 mark of the first half. 15 minutes later, UCCS lead was extended to 2-0 on a corner kick that was deflected off a Mountaineer defender.
- Right before the first half ended, the Mountain Lions managed to score one more goal to give them a 3-0 lead.
- Coming out of halftime UCCS scored two quick goals, at the 51:41 and 54:11 mark, ballooning their lead to 5-0.
- At the 58:45 mark, Reece Mercer had the lone shot on goal for the Mountaineers which was saved by the Mountain Lions goalkeeper.
- Three minutes later, the final goal of the game was scored by UCCS to put them up 6-0.

- Western Colorado had eight shots in the game, with one being on goal.
- The Mountain Lions had 21 shots in the game, 12 being on goal.
- Alex Peralta had four saves in the game, while Aubree Orosco had three.
