DURANGO, Colo. Western Colorado tried to get back into the game scoring at the 59:21 mark of the game. However, three early goals by the Chaminade Silverswords was too much to overcome resulting in the Mountaineers losing 1-3.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Silverswords got things going early, scoring 2:49 into the game and then followed that up with two more goals at the 6:40 and 8:07 mark in the game.
- 32 seconds later (8:39 mark), Abby Raio recorded the Mountaineers first shot of the game – kicking the ball towards the low center part of the goal, only to have it saved by Chaminade goalkeeper. Kylee Smith also recorded a shot on goal at the 30:33 mark of the game. However, that shot was also saved.
- About 14 minutes into the second half, Western Colorado scored their first goal of the season off a great pass by Kylie Hickox and spectacular effort from Reece Mercer who tapped the ball in the high left portion of the goal.
- The Mountaineers had one more shot on goal at the 60:59 mark of the game. But, the shot was blocked by the Silverswords.
