ALAMOSA, Colo. Western Colorado offense was firing on all cylinders in the second half outscoring Adams State 60-51. However, that wasn't enough to overcome the 18-point lead the Grizzlies had at halftime as the Mountaineers fell 94-85 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- It was a back and forth game early on, neither team wanting to give their opponent any breathing room. However, the Grizzlies managed to take control an held a seven-point lead with 11:14 left to play in the first half, until Matthew Ragsdale – who was hot early on – hit a three-pointer to trim the lead to 17-13, and score his eighth-point in the game.
- Adams State offense got going after that, outscoring Western 26-12 in the final 10 minutes in the first half. At halftime, the Mountaineers trailed 43-25.
- With 17:35 left to go in the second half, Western cut the lead to 10-points after Elijah Davidson drained a three-pointer. Nearly three-minutes later, Ragsdale knocked down a jumper trimming the Grizzlies lead to 53-45.
- The Mountaineers got closer to tying the game, after Cole Sienknecht knocked down a three-pointer, cutting the lead to 81-74 with 2:07 left to play. Yet, that would be the closest Western got to the lead as they fell 94-85.
- Sienknecht was on fire in the second half - only missing one shot - scoring 24-points in the half.
COURT NOTES
- Sienknecht was very efficient on offense, going 7-of-8 from the field, 6-of-7 from three, resulting in him having a team high 24-points. Ragsdale was the next highest scorer pitching in with 20-points in the game.
- The Mountaineers offense was clicking on all cylinders in the second half, scoring 60-points. Western shot 60.5 percent from the field in the second half, which is a drastic improvement from the first half where they shot 29 percent from the field.
- Rylan O'Brien led the way for Adams State on offense dropping 25-points, while Kaelin Crane had 21-points and Jordan Notch had 18-points.
