DURANGO, Colo.  Western Colorado will have to pick up a key win this weekend if they want to have a chance to make Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference tournament, as they take on Fort Lewis on Wednesday (Oct. 26) at 4 p.m.
 
*With Fort Lewis sitting in seventh place (5-6, 15 points) and CSU Pueblo in eighth place (4-5-2, 14 points), the Mountaineers who are in ninth place (4-7, 12 points) need to defeat the Skyhawks on Wednesday and then need the Thunderwolves to lose to UCCS - who is in third place (8-1-2) in order to make the tournament. 

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • The Mountaineers snapped a five-game losing streak on Sunday (Oct. 23), defeating Black Hills State 2-1. With the win Western is currently in ninth-place (4-7) – Fort Lewis in seventh (5-6) and CSU Pueblo (4-5-2) in eighth place.
  • Statistically, Taylor Bottoms and Laura Pelino are the leading goal scorers for Western in RMAC games, each recording two goals. Reece Mercer is leading in the assist category with three, Natasha Kasozi is not far behind with two assists of her own.
  • In the goal, Aubree Orosco has recorded 55 saves in RMAC games (second in RMAC) this season leading to her having a .764 save percentage (seventh in RMAC).
SKYHAWKS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
  • Fort Lewis has been hot as of late defeating Black Hills State 2-0 and Metropolitan State University of Denver 1-0, resulting in them being in seventh place in the RMAC standings.
  • For the Skyhawks, Madyson Barela is the leading goal scorer in RMAC games, with four goals on the season. While Hannah Paschke and Sabrina Reyes are right behind Barela with three and two goals.
  • Riley Bravin, Katie Dunbabin and Katlyn Rosenbaum have been the goalkeepers for Fort Lewis this season. Bravin and Dunbabin each playing in six games apiece, and Rosenbaum playing in five games. Bravin has the best save percentage (.905) and Dunbabin has the most saves (20).
