Western Colorado falls in final minutes to Eastern New Mexico

GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team dropped its first game of the season after falling to Eastern New Mexico 1-0 on Friday at Katy O. Rady Field.

It was a scoreless contest until there was less than four minutes left in the contest when the Greyhounds' Selena Casias scored to break the tie. The Mountaineers were able to get two more shots off in the final minutes from Caileen Sienknecht and Alex Mason - but neither found the back of the net as Western Colorado suffered its first loss of the season.

Each team had 12 shots with Western having four on target while ENMU had eight.

Sienknecht led the Mountaineers with three shots while Jessie Jacobsen and Tawny Roberts had two shots apiece. Kaeyla Noble was again strong in goal for Western Colorado with seven saves.

The Mountaineers return to the road next week as they travel to take on St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas, on Friday before taking on Texas A&M International on Sept. 19 in Laredo.
