GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team lost to No. 13 Colorado School of Mines 5-0 on Saturday afternoon at Katy O. Rady Field.Â
The Orediggers (6-0-2 overall, 4-0-1 RMAC) scored four goals in the opening 18 minutes of the contest - two by Eliot Edwards (along with an assist) and one apiece from Cloey Seltzer and AK Ford (assisted by Chaney Brugman).
CSM scored again in the opening two minutes of the second half on a goal from Brugman.
Overall, the Mountaineers (1-6, 1-2) were outshot by the Orediggers 23-5, including 15-1 on shots on goal.
Caileen Sienknecht took a team-high two shots for Western Colorado.
Grace Walker played the final 70 minutes at goalkeeper for Western and allowed one goal while picking up seven saves.
The Mountaineers return to action 3 p.m. Friday as they host CSU Pueblo at Katy O. Rady Field before playing their senior day game 1 p.m. next Sunday against Adams State.Â
