GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado volleyball team is scheduled to host the Orediggers of Colorado School of Mines on Thursday at 7 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
Western Colorado is coming off their season opener where they played a double header against MSU Denver (5-0, 5-0) and Adams State (0-3, 0-3). The Mountaineers fell to the Roadrunners 3-0 in their first match of the season, then bounced back to come out victorious over the Grizzlies in a 3-1 win.

Senior
Hanna Hendrickson has started out her season strong, leading the Mountaineers in assists averaging 5.71 per set, with 40 so far this season. Many of those assists going to sophomore
Jordyn Todd who leads the team in points (24), kills (22), and total attacks (88). Senior
Lyria Brook leads the team in digs this season as she earned 36 digs in the first two games of the season. At the net, freshman
Savanna Meyer is a tough player to get the ball past as she already has eight blocks in just two matches, averaging over one block pet set.

The Mountaineers will enter Thursdays match with only 10 active players on their roster due to injuries.

CSM HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
Colorado School of Mines has played twice as many games as Western Colorado has so far this season, currently on a two game winning streak heading into Thursdays match. Their only loss came on their opening day when the lost 3-1 to MSU Denver.

Leading the Orediggers offensively is junior, Taylor Hicken who leads the team in points (58.5) and kills (47). Most of those kills came from an assist from Drew Stokes who already has 164 assist on the season. Junior Elle Duis leads Colorado School of Mines in digs with 69 on the season, as teammate Julia Eiken leads the team in blocks with 12.

LAST SEASON VERSUS CSM
The Mountaineers fell to the Orediggers at home last season 3-0. Western Colorado managed to put up four aces, along with out blocking Colorado School of Mine in last season loss.

ON THE COURT NEXT
Western Colorado will have the weekend off, then will travel the following weekend to Chadron State College to play the Eagles in two back-to-back matches. Â
