GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado volleyball team travels to Salt Lake City to face off against the Griffins of Westminster College on Sunday and the Eagles of Chadron State College on Monday.

MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
Western Colorado is coming off a 2-3 loss over No. 8 Colorado School of Mines at home. The Mountaineers took the five set match into overtime for three of the sets, including the fifth set ending 23-21.

Offensively, senior
Hanna Hendrickson has started out her season strong, leading the Mountaineers in assists averaging 7.25 per set, with 87 so far this season. Many of those assists going to sophomore
Jordyn Todd who leads the team in points (44), kills (42), and total attacks (148).

Defensively, senior
Lyria Brook leads the team in digs this season as she earned 53 digs in the first three matches of the season. At the net, freshman
Savanna Meyer is a tough player to get the ball past as she already has fourteen blocks in just three matches, averaging over 1.17 blocks pet set.

WC HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
Westminster has played three times as many matches as Western Colorado has so far this season, but have lost five of their last six matches. Their only conference win of the season, came last weekend when they played the last place Grizzlies of Adams State.

Leading the Griffins offensively is senior, Audrey Green who leads the team in points (118) and kills (92). Most of those kills came from an assist from Bri Mortensen who already has 259 assist on the season. Junior Holland Vande Merwe leads Westminster in digs with 94 on the season, as teammate Malinda Messner leads the team in blocks with 22.

LAST SEASON VERSUS WC
The Mountaineers played Westminster twice last year, winning 3-0 at home and losing 0-3 on the road.

CSC HEADING INTO THIS WEEK | SEASON STATS
Chadron State College has played five matches has so far this season, currently on a two game losing streak heading into the week. There are 1-1 in conference play with a loss to UCCS early in the season and a win over Black Hills State two weeks ago.

Offensively, the Eagles have four players with over 30 kills and 40 points. Most of those kills came from an assist from Breshawna Kelly who has 96 assist on the season.

Senior Karli Noble leads Chadron State in digs with 95 on the season, as teammate Rhiannon Nez leads the team in blocks with 22.

LAST SEASON VERSUS CSC
The Mountaineers fell to the Eagles on the road last season 3-1, sending two of the four sets into overtime. Last year, Western Colorado managed to put up six aces against Chadron State.
