CHADRON, Neb. Western Colorado held an eight-point lead heading into halftime as it appeared they had control of the game. However, shooting woes to start the second half led to Chadron State College winning 90-84.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Will Willis led the charge in the first half making 6-of-7 field goals, 3-of-4 from the three-point line on his way to scoring 15 points.
- The Mountaineers were hot from beyond the arc in the first half making 8-of-16 (50%), which helped them hold a 49-41 lead at halftime.
- Coming out of halftime, Western struggled to make shots going 1-of-14 for the first 11 minutes of the half, allowing the Eagles to get back into the game and take a 67-57 lead.
- The Mountaineers were able to stay in the game during their scoring drought due to the fact they knocked down 5-of-6 from the free throw line.Â
- Western continued to fight back and got as close as two points from the lead with 37 seconds left in the game. Unfortunately, there just wasn't enough time left to get back into the game.

COURT NOTES
- The Mountaineers shot 34.5% from the field in the second half, shot 60% in the first half, while the Eagles were consistent shooting 57.1% in the first half and 50% in the second half.
- Matthew Ragsdale was the leading scorer for Western with 23 points and had help from Willis and Jaelan McCloud who pitched in with 17 and 11 points.
- Chadron was led by CJ Jennings who scored 32 points. Marcus Jefferson and Teddy Parham had big nights as well with 19 and 17 points.
- Cole Sienknecht led the way for the Mountaineers in the assist category with five on the night.
