GUNNISON, Colo. The Western Colorado University women's basketball team will look to build on their two-game win streak as they head to Canyon, Texas, to compete in the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic, hosted by West Texas A&M University.
MOUNTAINEERS HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- The Mountaineers are 2-1 so far this season after back-to-back wins over Angelo State University (62-57) and Fort Lewis College (72-69).
- They have outscored their opponents by a cumulative count of 176-174, have a better field goal percentage 40.8%-39.0% and 3-point percentage 36.4%-22.5% in the three games played this season.
- Ky Buell has been the leading scorer for the Mountaineers averaging 14.7 per game and has had help from Samantha Coleman who averages 13.3.
- Buell is also the leading rebounder with 5 per game and the best 3-point shooter on the team shooting 58.3%. Coleman is right behind Buell, though, shooting 54.5%.
- While the Mountaineers have shot well from the floor and 3-point line, they will look to continue to improve from the free throw line where they shoot 57.1%. The best game they have had from the line came in their last game against Fort Lewis, where they shot 84.6% from the stripe.
- If the Mountaineers want to continue their winning streak, they will also have to continue to get better taking care of the basketball. Currently they average 17 turnovers a game.
SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND | SEASON STATS
- The Bulldogs are 3-2 headed into the Thanksgiving Classic and are currently riding a two game win streak.
- They average 76.4 points per game, shooting 39.7% from the field and 33.9% from the 3-point line.
- Makyra Tramble is their go to player, averaging 22.2 points per game and is also a factor on defense with 2.8 steals per game.
- Bethany Franks is the leading rebounder for the Bulldogs averaging 8.4 per game.

- The Buffs will look to get back on track, as they prepare to host the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic, sitting at 2-5 overall this season.
