GUNNISON, Colo. With the game tied 52-52 in the second half Saturday night and after an
Avery Rembao layup, the Mountaineers had an opportunity to take over the game. But visiting Washington Adventist went on a 25-6 run to close out the game and hand the Mountaineers their second loss in the two-day Comfort INN Classic at Paul Wright Gym.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the beginning of the game, it was anyone's games as the Mountaineers and Shock traded baskets, resulting in the game being tied 12-12 at the 12:31 mark of the game.
- Washington Adventist then went on a 11-4 run, giving them a seven-point lead right before the half.
- Rembao and Will Willis helped cut into the Shock's lead with three minutes left before the buzzer sounded for the half. Rembao made two free throws and a jump shot, while Willis came in a drained a three pointer.
- Washington Adventist continued to make shots and extended their lead to 10 points heading into halftime.
- The Mountaineers continued to battle and appeared they were going to pull off a dramatic comeback, getting within one point of taking the lead coming out of a timeout with 10:36 left to play.
- However, while the Mountaineers were able to tie the game three minutes later, shots just stopped falling for them.
- Despite the fact the Mountaineers were unable to come away with the victory, they played better in the second half, scoring 40 points to the Shocks 44.
COURT NOTES
- The Mountaineers did a good job from the free throw line making 17-of-20.
- Rembao went 8-of-8 from the free throw line on his way to a 22-point scoring night.
- Matthew Ragsdale pitched in with 15 points, while going 4-of-4 from the charity stripe.
- Unfortunately, the Mountaineers struggled beyond the arc going 6-of-21 (28.6%), which was a huge factor in the loss.
- Washington Adventist made 8-of-16 (50%) from three, five of those threes coming in the second half.
- The Shock starters scored 60 of the 77 points scored in the game and had four of their starters in double figures.

Western will be on the road for their next two games competing in the Colorado Mesa Classic in Grand Junction at Brownson Arena. The Mountaineers will play Simon Fraser University on Friday Nov. 26 and on Saturday Nov. 27 against Our Lady of The Lake University. Both games will be played at 2 p.m.
