ALAMOSA, Colo. --- Western Colorado women's soccer defeated the Grizzlies of Adams State on Sunday afternoon in Alamosa, Colo. The Mountaineers win their first RMAC game of the year as they won 2-1 over the Grizzlies.

With the Mountaineers up 2-0 in the first half, the Grizzlies were on the prowl. Western Colorado defense led by
Alex Masonheld strong until Adams State scored in the 60:21 minute. The Mountaineers then maintained control taking home the victory.

Western Colorado took three shots in the match, placing 66 percent of them in the goal.

The Grizzlies struggled to stay focused through adversity and were given four yellow cards and one red card in the game, as Western Colorado received no cards.

Western Colorado returns to action next Friday when they travel to take on New Mexico Highlands in Las Vegas, N.M.
