GRAND JUNCTION , Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer team lost to Colorado Mesa 3-0 Sunday afternoon at Maverick Field in Grand Junction, Colo.

The Mountaineers (4-7-1, 1-5-1) fell behind the Mavericks (9-2, 6-1) 10 minutes into the match when Lila Dere scored on an assist from Haley Klasner.

Ten minutes later, the Mavericks went up 2-0 when Lila Dere scored her second goal on an assist again from Haley Klasner.

Colorado Mesa scored their final goal of the match in the 74th minute when Adessa Correa scored off an assist from Michaela Dangler.

The Mountaineers were outshot 19-4, including 10-1 on shots on goal.
Casey Elnicki led the team as she had the only shot on goal for Western Colorado.
Sarah Johnson,
Jessie Jacobsen, and
Kylie Hickox each had one shot in the game.

Kaeyla Noble played all 90 minutes as she had six saves in goal.

Western Colorado returns to action on Friday when they host Regis University at Katy O. Rady Field at 3 p.m.
