GUNNISON, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's basketball team has a chance to clinch a postseason berth for the second consecutive year while move closer to securing a first-round home game for the RMAC Tournament as the Mountaineers host Regis and Colorado Christian this week.

WCU at 13-4 in RMAC play sits in a tie for second with Colorado School of Mines - with the Mountaineers holding the tiebreaker as they defeated the Orediggers 66-48 in Golden earlier this season. With the top eight teams making the RMAC Tournament, WCU holds a four-game lead on the No. 8 position in the conference with five games to go. The top four teams host in the opening round and the Mountaineers are two games up on the No. 5 spot.

If the Mountaineers clinch a postseason spot - it would be the first time WCU has made the postseason in back-to-back seasons since 1990. Another win would also set a program record for wins at 14 (the 2006-07 team also won 13 RMAC games).
