ALAMOSA, Colo. --- The Western Colorado women's soccer dropped its season opener to Western Oregon 6-0 on Friday afternoon at Adams State University Soccer Field.
The Wolves (1-0) scored four goals in the first 20 minutes before the Mountaineers (0-1) settled in defensively and held WOU scoreless for 40 minutes. But the Wolves scored a goal in the 60th minute and the 84th minute to make the final 6-0.
The Mountaineers were outshot 14-1 with the lone shot coming from
Missa Webb.
Grace Walker faced 14 shots in the contest overall for Western Colorado and picked up a trio of saves in the contest.
The Mountaineers return to action 1:30 p.m. Sunday as they travel to take on Colorado Mesa in a non-RMAC contest in Grand Junction.
