DENVER, Colo. – Western Colorado University men's basketball was unable to tame the Rangers of Regis University on Friday night on the road. The Mountaineers fell to Regis 60-87.

Western (3-21, 0-18 RMAC) traded buckets with Regis (17-7, 14-4 RMAC) in the first half. With 2:06 left to play in the first, the Mountaineers trailed the Rangers by just four points following a
James Willis free throw.

The Rangers finished the half on a 6-2 run to take a 35-27 lead into the break.

The Mountaineers quickly cut that lead to three points after a
Brady Subart three-point field goal at the 18:18 mark of the second half. It would be the closest Western would get to the Rangers in the final 20 minutes.

Subart led the team in scoring with 19 points, while adding a team-high four assists. It's the 10
th straight game Subart has hit double figures in scoring.

As a team, Western shot 44.9 percent (22-of-49) from the field.

Cole Sienknecht also made it into double figures, scoring 16 points. It's the 15
th time the freshman has reached double figures in scoring this season.

Monroe Porter tied a game high with eight rebounds. Porter also scored eight points on 3-of-5 shooting from the field.

Western will conclude the four-game road trip Saturday against Colorado Christian University at 7 p.m. in Lakewood, Colorado.
